Welcome to our website.  We hope it gives you a flavour of the aspirations we have for our children and the pride we have in our school community. We work in a principled way based on what evidence tells us gets children off to the best possible start.

We place a high value on relationships between children, staff and families. We aim to enable children to be the very best version of themselves so believe partnership with families is vital. Of course to achieve this we recruit high quality staff with broad specialist qualifications.

Our school is a larger than average infant school, located near the University of East Anglia and in the middle of the dynamic West Earlham community, situated approximately 2.5 miles from the centre of the historic city of Norwich. We have a purpose built nursery which has the capacity for over 100 of our youngest learners. We have educational provision for 2 year olds – 7 year olds

We place very strong emphasis on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment which is welcoming to all and that encourages children to enjoy their learning. However the governors and staff are aspirational for the children so that they acquire the vital skills and attitudes that enable them to thrive and flourish at school and in the future. We are delighted our approach has been validated by OFSTED as Outstanding in all areas.

We pride ourselves on being a genuinely welcoming school, so if you want to find out more, don't just take our word for it. Please do come and visit us.

Dear Families,

We currently have a space on our governing board for a parent representative. Our governing board is a key part of our school; they are responsible for ensuring that the direction of our school is right for our children and community by providing support and constructive challenge.

Governors do not need to be experts in education; they need to be committed and passionate about our school and community with a willingness and ability to commit time and effort into improving our school. As the governing board seeks to recruit a new head this is an exciting time to become a member of our governing board We would ask that governors have ‘soft skills’ particularly the ability to build relationships with a range of people and the ability to work as part of a team.

If more than one parent comes forward to be part of the governing board a ballot vote will be held.

Key things that governors will need to be able to commit to are:
• Attend four full governing board meetings a year (after school)
• Attend three committee meetings a year (in the school day)
• Attend training courses relevant to their role.
• Read and comment where relevant on shared documents.

If you would like to have a chat about this please do come and speak to Mrs Mardell or Mrs Daley, if you are interested please complete the nomination form which is available from the office and return to the school office by Thursday 18th October.
