Welcome.

Welcome to our website.  We hope it gives you a flavour of the aspirations we have for our children and the pride we have in our school community. We work in a principled way based on what evidence tells us gets children off to the best possible start.

We place a high value on relationships between children, staff and families. We aim to enable children to be the very best version of themselves so believe partnership with families is vital. Of course to achieve this we recruit high quality staff with broad specialist qualifications.

Our school is a larger than average infant school, located near the University of East Anglia and in the middle of the dynamic West Earlham community, situated approximately 2.5 miles from the centre of the historic city of Norwich. We have a purpose built nursery which has the capacity for over 100 of our youngest learners. We have educational provision for 2 year olds – 7 year olds

We place very strong emphasis on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment which is welcoming to all and that encourages children to enjoy their learning. However the governors and staff are aspirational for the children so that they acquire the vital skills and attitudes that enable them to thrive and flourish at school and in the future. We are delighted our approach has been validated by OFSTED as Outstanding in all areas.

We pride ourselves on being a genuinely welcoming school, so if you want to find out more, don't just take our word for it. Please do come and visit us.

AMENDED DATE:
WEDNESDAY 14TH/THURSDAY 15TH NOVEMBER
Funded by Norwich City Council with Community Infrastructure Levy funding and in partnership with the friends of West Earlham Woods and the Norwich Fringe Project we are taking part in the creation of a sculpture trial in West Earlham woods.
Children in Year1 and Year2 will work with local artists (Willow Phoenix), to create a sculpture trail in the woods during their Forest School afternoon. Reception will be taking part in school. Every child will weave either a willow leaf, tree or owl to hang from the trees, for everyone to enjoy. The sculptures will remain in the wood as an exhibition of their work.
Families are more than welcome to come along to join in and support children in the session; we will be leaving school at approximately 12.45 and will be back at 3pm.
Alongside this children will be offered a tree cutting to take home and grow.
The completed sculptures along with a giant owl will be in the woods forever and children and families are welcomed and encouraged to go along at any time and spot their child’s creation.
