Welcome.

Welcome to our website.  We hope it gives you a flavour of the aspirations we have for our children and the pride we have in our school community. We work in a principled way based on what evidence tells us gets children off to the best possible start.

We place a high value on relationships between children, staff and families. We aim to enable children to be the very best version of themselves so believe partnership with families is vital. Of course to achieve this we recruit high quality staff with broad specialist qualifications.

Our school is a larger than average infant school, located near the University of East Anglia and in the middle of the dynamic West Earlham community, situated approximately 2.5 miles from the centre of the historic city of Norwich. We have a purpose built nursery which has the capacity for over 100 of our youngest learners. We have educational provision for 2 year olds – 7 year olds

We place very strong emphasis on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment which is welcoming to all and that encourages children to enjoy their learning. However the governors and staff are aspirational for the children so that they acquire the vital skills and attitudes that enable them to thrive and flourish at school and in the future. We are delighted our approach has been validated by OFSTED as Outstanding in all areas.

We pride ourselves on being a genuinely welcoming school, so if you want to find out more, don't just take our word for it. Please do come and visit us.

Dear Families
I am writing to inform you that Mrs Neate will finish as our headteacher here at the end of the summer term as she has accepted an international post in another country. As you all know, Mrs Neate has been the head of West Earlham Infant and Nursery for 7 years and during that time has been an outstanding headteacher and leader. So, as Chair of Governors, I am very sad that she is leaving us but I completely understand her desire to develop her career and look for new challenges and experiences.
We all know that the school has an excellent team of staff who have led the school to being classed as Outstanding by Ofsted in October last year. I therefore want to reassure you that they will continue with this great work and, in the short term, we are immensely grateful to have the support and leadership of Mrs Mardell (deputy head) for next term.
Governors are now working with Local Authority advisors to begin the process of planning the leadership of the school for the future. We will, of course, keep you informed of the developments.
Yours sincerely,
Pam Turnbull
Chair of Governors
